Business Rules for Searches by Bankrupt's Name

1. Surname should be entered first, followed by the Christian name.
   e.g. Lee Thong Thai Johnny

2. For Malay names, enter:
   (a) 'Bt' for 'Bte', 'Binte' & 'Binti';
   (b) 'Bin' must be entered in full.
   
   
3. No commas, full-stops and brackets are allowed in the name field.

4. No hypen allowed in the name field. To replace hypen with a space instead
   
   e.g. Lim Tao-Shan should be entered as Lim Tao Shaw. Al-Faisal should be entered as Al Faisal.

5. Apostrophe (') is allowed
   
   e.g. T'sing Shao San

6. The word 'MRS' to place behind the name string without commas or brackets
   
   e.g. Tan Tay Yong Mrs

7. Full initials are not allowed (e.g. B T P ) as it is meaningless. The possibility of persons with the same initials is incalculable.

8. Christian names alone are not allowed (e.g. Annie, John, etc) for the same reasons as in (7). It must come with at least a surname.

9. For married women using the husband's name as part of her name (e.g. Tan nee Gan Siew Wah), this should be entered as two separate name for the search (Tan Siew Wah & Gan Siew Wah).

10. When you search using a Singapore NRIC number, remember to put an "S" in front of the NRIC No. eg. S1234567A.
